The hike starts in the abandoned village of Kayakoy, also known as the “ghost town.” This once-thriving town was deserted in the early 20th century, and today, it stands as a haunting reminder of the past. The hike begins in the village and takes you through the surrounding hills and forests.
After about two hours of hiking, the trail begins to descend towards the coast, and you catch your first glimpse of the stunning Blue Lagoon. The Blue Lagoon is a protected area of stunning natural beauty, and it’s easy to see why it’s one of the most popular destinations on Turkey’s southwestern coast. The lagoon is a vibrant shade of blue, surrounded by rugged cliffs and lush green vegetation.
As we get closer to the lagoon, the trail becomes steeper and more challenging, with rocky terrain and uneven ground. But the effort is well worth it, as you finally reach the top of the cliff overlooking the lagoon. The view is simply breathtaking, and you can take some time to rest and enjoy the scenery before continuing the descent down to the lagoon itself.
Once we reach the lagoon, there are plenty of options for swimming and relaxing on the beach. The crystal-clear water is perfect for swimming.
